Samantha Hankey to Deliver Recital At Alice Tully Hall

Mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey is set to perform an Alice Tully Hall Vocal Arts Recital on April 1, 2020.

The mezzo-soprano will be joined by pianist Brian Zeger as they interpret Haydn’s “Arianna a Naxos,” Berg’s “Sieben frühe Lieder,” Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’été,” Obradors “En el pinar” and “El vito,” and Nin’s “El amor es como un niño” and “El Jilguerito Con Pico de Oro.” The duo will also perform Strauss’ “Einerlei,” “Nachtgang,” “Lob des Leidens,” and Nichts.”

After the recital, Hankey will appear in the Met Opera’s production of “Manon Lescaut,” taking on the role of Musico. She will also appear as Dorabella in “Così Fan Tutte” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

Hankey is a winner of the Inaugural Glyndebourne Cup, the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions, and a recipient of a career grant from the Richard Tucker Music Foundation.
