San Francisco Opera and Merola Opera Program has announced the 2024 Schwabacher Recital Series.

First up is Simona Genga and Hyemin Jeong present “Two Laurels,” which includes both classical art songs and new compositions, “bringing the audience on a journey through the intimate moments of a queer love story.”

Performance Date: Feb. 21, 2024

Then comes a program curated by Nicholas Phan. The showcase features  sopranos Arianna Rodriguez and Olivia Smith; mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz; bass-baritone Jongwon Han; and pianist Yang Lin as they take on songs in English, German, Russian, Spanish, French, and Korean.

Performance Date: March 6, 2024

Rounding out the series will be a performance featuring Samantha Hankey and Carrie-Ann Matheson. They present music by Debussy, Alma Mahler, Zemlinsky, Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, and Weill.
