Samantha Hankey, Andriana Chuchman & Adam Smith Lead Lyric Opera of Kansas City Opera’s 2023-24 Season

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced its 2023-24 season featuring four productions.

The season opens with a double bill of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci.” Mascagni’s work will star Samantha Hankey, Adam Smith, and Gevorg Hakobyan. Meanwhile, Leoncavallo’s work will star Diego Torre, Gabriella Reyes, and Gevorg Hakobyan. Roberto Kalb conducts the production by Shawna Lucey.

Performance Dates: Sept. 23-Oct. 1, 2023

Mikaela Bennet, Alexandra Loutsion, and Alyson Cambridge star in “The Sound of Music.” James Lowe conducts the production by Francesca Zambello.

Performance Dates: Nov. 4-12, 2023

Matthew White, Andriana Chuchman, Johnathan McCullough, and Nicholas Newton star in Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette.” Christopher Allen conducts the production by Matthew Ozawa.

Performance Dates: March 9-17, 2024

The season will also include “Journey to Valhalla.” The performance will include excerpts from “The Ring Cycle.”

Performance Dates: May 3 & 5, 2024
