Samanatha Hankey & Carrie-Ann Matheson to Close Schwabacher Recital Series

The 40th anniversary of the Schwabacher Recital Series, presented by the Merola Opera Program and San Francisco Opera Center, is set to a close with an intimate concert featuring mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey and pianist Carrie-Ann Matheson.

The recital, which is set to be held on April 3 at the Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater will feature a program of music by Claudie Debussy, Manuel de Falla, Alexander Zemlinsky, Cole Porter and Kurt Weill.

Over the past years, Hankey has performed at the Lyric Opera of Kansas, Metropolitan Opera, London’s Wigmore Hall and New York’s Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Alice Tully Hall.

Matheson is a multi-faceted pianist, conductor, and educator who has performed with such singers as Piotr Beczała, Benjamin Bernheim, Diana Damrau, Joyce DiDonato, Jonas Kaufmann, and Roland Villazón, among many others.
