Saioa Hernandez, Leo Nucci & Carmen Giannattasio Headline Teatro Regio Di Torino’s 2019-20 Season

The Teatro Regio di Torino has announced its 2019-20 season.

Bizet’s “Les pêcheurs de perles” opens the season starring Hasmik Torosyan, Yaroslav Abaimov, Fabio Maria Capitanucci, and Ugo Guagliardo. The production will be directed by Julien Lubeck and Cécile Roussat and conducted by Ryan McAdams.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3-20, 2019

Anna Pirozzi and Carmen Giannattasio share the title role in Puccini’s “Tosca.” The two divas are joined by Marcelo Álvarez and Jonathan Tetelman in the role of Cavaradossi and Roberto Frontali and Gevorg Hakobyan as Scarpia. Daniel Oren conducts the production by Mario Pontiggia.

Performance Dates: Oct. 15-29, 2019

Varduhi Abrahamyan and Martina Belli share the title role of Bizet’s “Carmen” with Andrea Carè and Peter Berger sharing the role of Don José. Salome Jicia and Lucas Meachem round out the cast with Giacomo Sagripanti conducting Stephen Medcalf’s production.

Kiandra Howarth, Giovanni Sala, Eleonora Bellocci, Karl Huml, and Markus Werba star in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” with Diego Fasolis conducting Pier Luigi Pizzi’s production.

Performance Dates:  Jan. 15-24, 2020

Pinchas Steinberg  conducts Korngold’s opera “Violanta” in Pier Luigi Pizzi’s production.

Performance Dates: Jan. 21-28, 2020

Giovanni Meoni, Leo Nucci, and Damiano Salerno share the title role  in Verdi’s “Nabucco.” They are joined by Saioa Hernández and Csilla Boross sharing the role of Abigaille, Riccardo Zanellato and Rubén Amoretti alternating as Zaccaria and Enkelejda Shkosa and Agostina Smimmero as Fenena. Donato Renzetti conducts Andrea Cigni’s production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 12-22, 2020

Dinara Alieva and Maria Teresa Leva share teh title role in Puccini’s “La Bohème” with Fabio Sartori and Valentin Dytiuk alternating as Rodolfo. Hasmik Torosyan and Paola Antonucci portray Musetta, while Massimo Cavalletti is Marcello. Daniel Oren conducts Paolo Gavazzeni and Piero Maranghi’s production.

Roland Böer conudcts Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust” in a production by Damiano Michieletto. Alex Esposito and Veronica Simeoni star in the production.

Ian Bostridge, Roberta Mameli, Katrin Wundsam, Carlo Allemano, Luca Tittoto, and Luca Tittoto star Bach’s “St. Matthew’s Passion.” Alessandro De Marchi conducts Andrea Bernard’s production. 

Performance Dates: April 10-18, 2020

Paolo Bordogna stars in Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” with Antonino Siragusa and Matteo Falcier sharing the role of Ernesto, Maria Grazia Schiavo and Lucrezia Drei alternating as Norina, and Roberto de Candia and Vincenzo Nizzardo as Dottor Malatesta. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts Ugo Gregoretti’s production.

Giulio Laguzzi conducts Pierangelo Valtinoni’s “Il Mago Di Oz” in a production by Luca Valentino.

Carlos Álvarez, Rebeka Lokar, Michele Pertusi, and Roberto Aronica star in Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” with Pier Giorgio Morandi. Sylvano Bussotti directs the production.

Performance Dates: June 9-21, 2020

René Barbera, Chiara Amarù, Simone Del Savio, and Marco Mimica star in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.” Matteo Beltrami conducts Vittorio Borrelli’s production.
