Saimir Pirgu, Andrè Schuen Headline New National Theatre, Tokyo’s Streaming Options in June

The New National Theatre, Tokyo has announced its streaming program for the month of June.

It all kicks off on June 5 with Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” with a cast that includes Sava Vemic, Steve Davilim, Yoko Yasui, Masako Hayashi, Andrè Schuen, Kane Kushima, and Tadahir Masujima. Roland Böer conducts. The performance will be available until June 12, 2020.

On June 12, the company will stream “Madama Butterfly” with an all-Japanese cast that includes Atsuko Kobayashi, Keiroh Ohara, Takashi Aoyama, Makiko Yamashita, Shingo Uchiyama, Takeo Shumamura, and Jun Hoshino. Norichika Iimori conducts. The stream will be available through June 19.

Saimir Pirgu headlines “Werther,” which will start streaming on June 19. Other cast members include Mihoko Fujimura, Hiroshi Kuroda, Hiroko Kouda, Takayuki Ito, Shuhei Itoga, and Toshiaki Komada. Paul Daniel conducts the stream, which will be available until June 26.
