Soprano Sae-Kyung Rim, tenor Kang Wang, and baritone Phillip Rhodes are set to perform at the Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Opera Gala.

The trio will perform selections by Giacomo Puccini, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death. They are joined by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Voices of Birralie Choir. Guest conductor Maestro Giordano Bellincampi directs.

Opera Gala is part of the symphony’s dedication to bringing music to communities across Queensland. The first concert takes place on March 8 at 7:30 p.m. at QPAC’s Concert Hall. The final installment takes place on March 9 at 1:30 p.m.

Following the Opera Gala, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Brisbane Chamber Choir will present Händel’s “Messiah” for Holy Week. Featured soloists are soprano Celeste Lazarenko, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Dillon, tenor Alexander Lewis, and bass-baritone Christopher Richardson.
