By David Salazar

The S.E. M. Ensemble is set to present a six-hour performance of “Many Many Women” on June 3, 2022.

The showcase,  which will take place at Life World Gowanus in Brooklyn, will feature music by Petr Kotik using text from Gertrude Stein’s “Many Many Women.”

The piece features six vocalists, including soprano Jen Wu, Elizabeth van Os, Padraic Costello, Steve Wilson, James Gregroy, and Nicholas Hay, as well as two flutes, two trumpets, and two trombones. The piece is intended to be presented in a long, uninterrupted performance without a clear beginning or end.

Members of the audience are encouraged to stay as long as they like or show up as late as they like; they can also enter and exit at will and there will be a foyer for socialization and refreshments. The concert will kick off at 6 p.m. and runs until 12 a.m.
