Ryan Speedo Green To Give Recital At The Kennedy Center

Ryan Speedo Green is set to make his recital debut at the Washington National Opera.
The 2018 recipient of the Marian Anderson Vocal Award will give a recital as part of the award bestowed on him by the company. Adam Nielsen will accompany him in a recital that is set to include works by Wagner, Verdi, and Mahler, as well as the American composers Margaret Bonds, Florence B. Price, Leslie Adams, and Howard Swanson.
The award, which recognizes a young American singer in opera, oratorio, or recital repertoire with outstanding promise for a significant career, also awarded the young singer a $10,000 cash prize and will lead a master class with students in the Vocal Music program at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Washington D.C.’s visual and performing arts high school.
Green is the latest in a distinguished list of winners, which have included Sylvia McNair, Denyce Graves, Patricia Racette, Michelle DeYoung, Nathan Gunn, Eric Owens, Lawrence Brownlee, Sasha Cooke, J’nai Bridges, Jamie Barton, Janai Brugger, and John Holliday.
Green gives his recital on Oct. 4, 2018.
