Ryan Allais Headlines Jackson Heights Orchestra’s Unique Rendition of ‘On Wenlock Edge’

The Jackson Heights Orchestra is set to present a full orchestra arrangement of Vaughan Williams’ “On Wenlock Edge” on Dec. 11, 2024.

The performance, which will be presented at Trinity Lutheran Church in Astoria, NY, will feature tenor Ryan Allais as Housman’s protagonist. A New Mexico native, Allais is a media consultant for the Art Song Center for Poets and Musicians and has also worked as a vocal teacher at Piedmont Public Schools as well as the conductor for Taos Community Chorus and the Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Taos.

The program also includes Smetana’s “The Moldau” and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony; Allais will also play trombone for the Beethoven.

Alex Wen will conduct the concert.
