Ruth Iniesta Receives Prestigious Award In Spain

Ruth Iniesta has been awarded the “El Ojo Crítico” award for 2019.

The jury awarded the soprano the accolade for her voice, technique and versatility in opera.

The jury was made up of Joan Matabosch, Artistic director of the Teatro Real; composer Fernando Velázquez; composer Raquel García-Tomás; Félix Palomero, technical director of the la Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España; Ricardo de Cala, collaborator of El Ojo Crítico; Carlos Sandúa, director of Radio Clásica; Alberto Martínez Arias, director of El Ojo Crítico; and Berta Tapia Zamora.

This season, Iniesta performs Gilda in “Rigoletto” at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Ofelia in “Amleto” at the Teatro Filarmonico, Lisette in “La Rondine” at the Teatro San Carlo, and the title role of “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Teatro Filarmonico.
