Russell Thomas, James Conlon, Jeremy Frank & Wagner Headline LAO At Home This Week

Los Angeles Opera has announced its latest set of performances as part of its LAO at Home series.

Kicking things off will be a living room recital featuring tenor Russell Thomas. The famed interpreter of such works as “Norma,” “Otello,” “La Clemenza di Tito,” and “Tosca,” will work together with pianist Kyung-mi Kim on art songs by Vaughan Williams, Schubert, Verdi, Mascagni, and Billie Holiday’s “Strange Fruit.”

Streaming Date: July 20, 2020 at 4 p.m. PDT 

Jeremy Frank will lead an Opera Happy Hour with an emphasis on Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen.”

Streaming Date: July 21, 2020 at 5 p.m. PDT 

Music Director James Conlon will host an informal chat in which he takes questions on Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen.” 

Streaming Date: July 23, 2020 at 10 a.m. PDT 

It all comes down to the big Saturday marathon of Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen.”

Streaming Date: July 25, 2020 – “Das Rheingold” at 8 a.m. PDT; “Die Walküre” at 11 a.m. PDT; “Siegfried” at 3 p.m. PDT; “Götterdämmerung” at 7 p.m. PDT
