The Royal Opera House is set to bring Puccini’s “Tosca” to cinemas on Oct. 1, 2025.

The new production by Oliver Mears is conducted by Music Director Jakub Hrůša and stars Anna Netrebko, Freddie De Tommaso, and Gerald Finley.

When the production opened on Sept 11, critics raved and said, Netrebko’s “‘Vissi d’arte’ was excellent, dripping with anguish, and the ‘rimuneri’ on the last phrase, ‘perché me ne rimuneri cosi?’ seemed to last an eternity, as did the deserved vociferous applause and cheers from the delighted audience.”

The broadcast was recorded from an earlier performance and marks the first opera in cinemas for the 2025-26 season.

The Royal Opera House is also set to broadcast “La Traviata,” “Siegfried,” and “The Magic Flute.”
