Royal Opera House to Offer Up Free Online Streams of Past Productions

The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, has announced that it will launch a program of free online content that people can watch from their homes throughout the shutdown due to coronavirus.

The program, which will include opera and ballet, will be featured for free via the company’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

First up is The Royal Ballet’s performance of “Peter and the Wolf,” which will be showcased on March 27, 2020. The production dates from 2010.

On April 3, 2020, audiences can check out “Acis and Galatea” from a production in 2009. April 10 brings a 2010 production of “Così fan tutte” and April 17 will showcase “The Metamorphosis” from The Royal Ballet in 2013.

The company will continue to announce upcoming content over the coming days.
