On Oct. 24, 2019, the Royal Opera House will stream Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” into local cinemas, with international audiences getting a chance to see the transmission at a later date.

The opera will star Bryn Terfel in the title role with Olga Peretyatko as Norina and Ioan Hotea as Ernesto. Markus Werba stars as Doctor Malatesta. Evelino Pidò conducts.

Early reviews for the production have been positive with Peretyatko, who made her company debut with the opera, drawing most praise for her work.

“Olga Peretyatko… negotiates Norina’s treacherous vocal lines with apparent ease,” stated the Evening Standard’s review of the work.

Olga Peretyatko made a strong impression in her house debut. There was an occasional diamond-hard edge to her upper notes, which suits the calculating Norina, but the pianissimo trill in her aria ‘So anch’io la virtù magica’ was drop-dead gorgeous,” added Bachtrack.
