Royal Opera House Cancels ‘Rigoletto’ Performance Due to Storm Eunice

By Francisco Salazar

The Royal Opera House has canceled its first performance of “Rigoletto” on Feb. 18, 2022.

The company said, “We are sorry to announce that tonight’s performance of Rigoletto is canceled due to storm Eunice.”

For ticket holders, the company will credit their accounts directly.

Storm Eunice has already torn down rooftops and trees, crushed cars, and sent planes skidding on London’s runways. It is bringing hurricane-strength winds with the UK Met Office expanding its rare “danger-to-life” weather alert on Friday morning. The warning includes most of the south of England and some of Wales and is slated to pick up winds as high as 122 miles per hour.

“Rigoletto” is set to return to the stage on Feb. 21 and will star Luca Salsi, Rosa Feola, and Francesco Demuro. Stefano Montanari conducts.
