Royal Opera House Cancels Final Performance of ‘The Rape of Lucretia’

The Royal Opera has canceled the final performance of “The Rape of Lucretia.”

The company said, “With great regret, we must cancel tonight’s performance of ‘The Rape of Lucretia’ due to illness. Ticket buyers have been contacted and the value of your ticket(s) will be automatically credited to your account. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The production was directed by Oliver Mears with Corinna Niemeyer conducting. The cast, which was drawn from the Jette Parker Artists Programme and the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme starred Anne Marie Stanley in the title role, Carolyn Holt, Sarah Dufresne, Jolyon Loy, Anthony Reed, Kieran Rayner, Sydney Baedke, and Michael Gibson.

The Royal Opera House is currently performing a production of “Alcina” and is set to revive “Tosca” with Malin Byström, and Natalya Romaniw.
