Royal Opera House Announces Cast Change For ‘La Traviata’

The Royal Opera House has announced that Jonathan Tetelman and Charles Castronovo will replace Rame Lahaj in the company’s production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” on Jan. 22, 25, 30 and Feb. 1,  2020.

Tetelman will make his house debut during the Jan. 22 showcase and will also appear on the 30th of January and on Feb. 1. Castronovo will sing the role of Alfredo on Jan. 25.

Tetelman is also scheduled to sing in the company’s production of “La Bohème” later this month and is also set to appear with the Teatro Regio di Torino, SemperOper Dresden, and Seattle Opera.

Meanwhile, Castronovo, who is currently performing “La Bohème” at the Royal Opera House, is set to perform Verdi’s “I Masnadieri” and “Don Carlo”  at the Bayerische Staatsoper later in the season.

Both tenors will perform alongside sopranos Dinara Alieva and Vlada Borvko.
