The Royal Albert Hall has announced a holiday concert, “Christmas with Jonas Kaufmann.”

The program will include traditional Christmas songs such as “Indulci jubilo,” “Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier,” and carols such as “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “What Child is This?,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful (Adeste fideles),” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”

Kaufmann will also present hits such as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “White Christmas,” and “The Christmas Song.” The tenor will be accompanied by the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie led by Jochen Rieder. The songs on the repertoire reflect a very personal choice by Kaufmann, invoking happy memories and the pleasure of the Christmas holidays.

This event marks Kaufmann’s return to the Royal Albert Hall for the first time since his performance at “Last Night of the Proms” in 2015.

This season, Kaufmann is slated to perform the title role in Verdi’s “Otello” at the Teatro di San Carlo in November and December 2021, before taking on the title role in Britten’s “Peter Grimes” at the Wiener Staatsoper in January and February 2022.

“Christmas with Jonas Kaufmann” concert will take place on Dec. 16, 2021.
