
Royal Academy Opera to Stage Strauss’ ‘Capriccio’
By Afton MarkayAs part of its autumn 2026 season, the Royal Academy Opera will present Strauss’ “Capriccio.”
The opera will be conducted by the Academy’s Head of Opera Christopher White and directed by Olivia Fuchs. The stage designer is Yannis Thavoris and Jake Wiltshire is the lighting designer. The cast will be announced at a later time.
“Capriccio” will take place on the Susie Sainsbury stage in London from Nov. 23-27.
Also as part of the season, singers from Royal Academy Opera and the Preparatory Opera course along with Opera Repetiteur Fellows, and students from the Conducting Department will present opera scenes. Laura Attridge directs.
