
Rossini Opera Festival Announces Cast Change for ‘Zelmira’
By Francisco SalazarThe Rossini Opera Festival has announced a cast change for its production of “Zelmira.”
The company revealed that Pretty Yende will no longer perform the title role and will therefore be replaced by Anastasia Bartoli.
Bartoli has performed at the festival in productions of “Eduardo e Cristina” and “Ermione.” She has also performed in a Concerto di Belcanto with the festival. Bartoli has also performed with the Berlin State Opera, Teatro La Fenice, Palm Beach Opera, and Wiener Staatsoper.
She joins a cast that includes Andrea Mastroni, Lawrence Brownlee, Enea Scala, and Marina Viotti. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts a production by Calixto Bieito.
“Zelmira” opens on August 10 and runs through August 19, 2025.
