Rossini Opera Festival Announces 2025 Season

The Rossini Opera Festival has announced the opera for its 2025 season.

The 46th edition of the event will take place from August 10 to 22, 2025, and will feature three operas, two new productions, and one revival.

The festival will open on August 10, 2025 with a new production of “Zelmira,” conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti. The production will be directed by Spanish director Calixto Bieito, making his debut in Pesaro.

The second new production, to be staged will be “L’Italiana in Algeri” opening on August 12. Dmitry Korchak conducts Rosetta Cucchi will direct.

The final opera will be “Il Turco in Italia” in a production by Davide Livermore. Diego Ceretta conducts in his operatic debut.

The season will also consist of bel canto concerts and lyric-symphonic concerts, one of which will feature three Rossini Cantatas in a new critical edition, and the Messa per Rossini.
