Rossini Opera Festival Announces 2024 Season

The Rossini Opera Festival has announced its 2024 season.

The season will take place in the year that Pesaro will be the Italian Capital of Culture and will offer five operas for a total of thirty performances from August 7th to 23rd 2024.

The season will open with a new production of “Bianca e Falliero” directed by Roberto Abbado and staged by Jean-Louis Grinda.

There will also be a new production of “Ermione” conducted by Michele Mariotti and directed by Johannes Erath.

There will be a revival of “L’equivoco stravagante” by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier and directed by Michele Spotti.

Pier Luigi Pizzi’s 2018 production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” will be presented. Lorenzo Passerini will direct this time around.

The festival will close with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first modern performance of “Il viaggio a Reims,” with Diego Matheuz conducting.
