By Francisco Salazar

The Rossini Opera Festival has announced the operas that it will present during its 2021 edition.

The season, which will open on August 9, will feature such works as “Il Signor Bruschino,” “Moise et Pharaon,” “Elisabetta, Regina d’Inghilterra,” all of which were originally planned for 2020. Joining these operas will be the annual revival of “Il Viaggio a Reims.”

The season will also feature the Stabat Mater, Concerti di Bel Canto and Concerti Lirico-Sinfonici.

The festival also announced that it hopes to present a complete program after having reimagined the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the festival only presented one of its originally planned productions and also presented an autumn season, which featured a production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

The Rossini Opera Festival is set to run through August 22, 2021, with more details coming in the next months.
