The festival, which will run for two days will showcase one-act performances of 30 Chicago College of Performing Arts graduate-level voice students.

The festival will also present the world premiere of “Frideswide and the Devil” by composer Dorian Cunningham and writer Debra Mitchell. The opera tells the story of the female patrón saint of Oxford who combats a male abductor. The world premiere performance will feature six students accompanied by piano.

There will also be a showcase of “Angry Birdsong” and “Benedicta,” one-act operas by Milton Granger as well as a showcase of the “Olympia” act from “Les Contes d’Hoffmann.” Both of these showcases are set to take place at the Murray-Green Library on campus.
