In a statement, the tenor said, “Being a Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artist was a wonderful, transformative experience. In fact, I could not imagine having been in a better place as a young artist on the verge of an international career and I am happy to have this opportunity to help raise money for the next generation of opera stars.”
There are limited tickets and patrons have the opportunity to add an exclusive post-recital dinner with Villazón at Senti Restaurant in Lawrenceville.
Villazón is one of the most sought-after performers of his generation. He has sung at the Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House and is slated to return to the Metropolitan Opera this season.
