Rolando Villazón, René Pape, Sonya Yoncheva & Michael Volle Lead Berlin State Opera’s 2022-23 Season

The Berlin State Opera has announced its 2022-23 season featuring a new Ring Cycle.

The Ring Cycle 

Daniel Barenboim conducts a new production of Wagner’s epic The Ring Cycle by Dmitri Tcherniakov.

Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” is set to star Michael Volle, Lauri Vasar, Siyabonga Maqungo, Rolando Villazón, Claudia Mahnke, Anett Fritsch, Anna Kissjudit, Johannes Martin Kränzle, Stephan Rügamer, Mika Kares, and Peter Rose.

Performance Dates: Oct. 2, 2022-April 4, 2023

Die Walküre” is set to be performed by Robert Watson, Vida Miknevičiūtė, Mika Kares, Michael Volle, Anja Kampe, and Claudia Mahnke.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3, 2022-April 5, 2023

Andreas Schager, Stephan Rügamer, Michael Volle, Johannes Martin Kränzle, Peter Rose, Anna Kissjudit, Anja Kampe, and Victoria Randem star in “Siegfried.”

Pene Pati, Erin Morley, Angela Brower, Paul-Antoine Bénos-Dijan, Sarah Aristidou, Siyabonga Maqungo, and Adriana Bignagni Lesca star in Mozart’s “Mitridate.” Satoshi Miyagi directs the production with Marc Minkowski conducting.

René Pape, Anna Kissjudit, Vera-Lotte Boecker, Linard Vrielink, and Pavel Černoch star in R. Strauss’ “Daphne” with Thomas Guggeis conducting Romeo Castellucci’s production.

Mozart’s “Idomeneo” is set to star Andrew Staples, Magdalena Kožená, Anna Prohaska, Olga Peretyatko, Linard Vrielink, Florian Hoffmann, and Jan Martiník. Simon Rattle conducts David McVicar’s production.
