Rolando Villazón has published his latest novel “Amadeus auf dem Fahrrad (Amadeus on a bicycle).”

The novel was published by Rowohlt and is intended to be a love letter to Mozart.

The book is currently only available in German and tells the story of a Mexican adolescent Vian Maurer, who dreams of becoming an opera singer but failed due to his strict father and his singing teachers who could not figure out whether he was a tenor of baritone. But Maurer is able to fulfill his dreams of being in an opera production by being an extra in a production of “Don Giovanni.”

The book marks the latest project by Villazón who recently finished recording his latest album for Deutsche Grammophon and is set to return to the stage this summer for the DG stage concert series.
