Roderick Williams, Ian Bostridge, Dame Sarah Connolly, Dorothea Röschmann Headline Oxford Lieder Festival’s 2021 Season

The Oxford Lieder Festival has announced its 20th anniversary season, which is set to take place between Oct. 8-23, 2021.

Per a press release, the showcase will feature over 80 events with such artists as Ian Bostridge, Dame Sarah Connolly, Dietrich Henschel, Thomas Oliemans, Christoph Prégardien, Dorothea Röschmann, Carolyn Sampson, Anna Stéphany, Camilla Tilling, Robin Tritschler, Roderick Williams, Catriona Morison, Simon Bode, Stuart Jackson, Konstantin Krimmel, and Helen Charlston.

In addition to programs centered on the famed song cycles by Schumann and Schubert as well as French, American, and Scandinavian composers, the festival will also include 20 new works by such composers as Tom Coult, Cheryl Frances-Hoad, and Kate Whitley. There will also be a mastercourse led by Joan Rodgers.

The festival will be comprised of both live performances as well as live stream events for those unable to attend. Live performances will take place both in indoor and outdoor settings.
