Rocío Pérez Set to Take Over Major Role in Deutsche Oper Berlin’s ‘Dinorah’

Soprano Rocío Pérez will replace Sabine Devieilhe in the concert performances of Meyerbeer, Barbier, and Carré’s opera “Dinorah ou Le Pardon de Ploërmel,” according to the official statement on the company’s website.

Pérez will perform for both concert presentations of the opera on March 4 and March 7.

The Spanish soprano will join the cast that includes Florian Sempey, Philippe Talbot, Seth Carico, Gideon Poppe, Nicole Haslett and Karis Tucker. Enrique Mazzola will conduct.

Pérez has recently performed the title role in “Lucia di Lammermoor” and the role of Königin der Nacht in “Die Zauberflöte” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She has also appeared as Nannetta in Verdi and Boito’s “Falstaff” at the Teatro Real de Madrid, and performed the role of Olympia in “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” at the Finnish National Opera, among others.

Sabine Devieilhe is set to be back onstage for the presentation of Rameau and Marmontel’s “Acante et Céphise” at The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées on March 24, 2020.
