British conductor Robin Davis has been appointed as the next General Music Director in Bielefeld.

According to a report, the search committee is said to have submitted a corresponding proposal to the city council.

Davis is the first Kapellmeister at the Salzburger Landestheater and first Kapellmeister at the Theater Lüneburg, Kapellmeister and Assistant to the Generalmusikdirektor in Oldenburgisches Staatstheater and solo repetiteur in Theater Dortmund.

He was also a conductor of the Oldenburg Youth Orchestra.

As a pianist, Davis has performed in Korea, Bermuda, and Taiwan, as well as at Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room, Fairfield Hall, Kings Place, St. John’s Smith Square, and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.
