Roberto Alagna, Elena Pankratova, Christine Goerke & Aleksandra Kurzak Lead Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Turandot’

The Metropolitan Opera is set to present Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Puccini’s “Turandot” for 17 performances.

The production will showcase Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv in her Met debut with two casts. The first cast will feature Elena Pankratova in the title role opposite tenor SeokJong Baek as Calàf. They will be joined by Aleksandra Kurzak as Liù and  Vitalij Kowaljow as Timur. Soprano Juliana Grigoryan will also sing  Liù on March 13 and will make her company debut.

The spring cast will feature Christine Goerke, Roberto Alagna, Gabriella Reyes, Angel Blue and Peixin Chen.

The third cast will feature Marco Armiliato conducting Pankratova and Baek with Olga Kulchynska and Soloman Howard.

“Turandot” will be performed between Feb. 28 and June 7, 2024. The Feb. 28, March 16, April 19, and June 4 performances will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on the SiriusXM app and on March 16, the performance will be broadcast over The Robert K. Johnson Foundation–Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
