Roberto Alagna & Cecilia Bartoli Lead Les Chorégies d’Orange’s 2020 Festival

Les Chorégies d’Orange has announced its 2020 festival featuring two operas and a number of concerts. Here are the vocal highlights of the season.

The season opens with Saint-Saens’ “Samson et Dalila” conducted by Yves Abel. The production will be directed by Jean-Louis Grinda and will star Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Roberto Alagna in the title roles. Ludovic Tézier rounds out the cast as the High Priest.

Cecilia Bartoli and conductor Gianluca Capuano team up with the Les Musiciens du Prince for an evening of Handel, Vivaldi and Rossini.

Performance Dates: July 24, 2020 

Nicola Luisotti is set conduct Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” in a concert performance that includes Eva-Maria Westbroek as Leonora, Nicola Ulivieri as the Marquis, Amartuvshin Enkhbat as Don Carlo, Ketevan Kemoklidze as Preziosilla, Jong-Min Park as Padre Guardiano and Gabriele Viviani as Fra Melitone. The role of Don Alvaro is still to be announced.

Performance Dates: August 1, 2020

The Concert des Révélations classiques de l’Adami is set to star Amandine Ammirati, Lise Nougier, Sahy Ratia, and Timothée Varon. They will be joined by instrumentalists Rafael Angster, Marie-Astrid Hulot, Vincent Mussat, and Jérémy Garbarg.

Performance Date: July 15, 2020
