Roberta Mantegna Headlines Teatro La Fenice’s ‘Roberto Devereux’

After 48 years, Donizetti’s “Roberto Devereux” returns to the Venice stage at the Teatro La Fenice in a semi-staged production by Alfonso Antoniozzi.

The historic performance is set to be conducted by Riccardo Frizza with Roberta Mantegna in the role of Elisabetta with Enea Scala in the title role. The cast will be rounded out by Lilly Jørstad as Sara and Alessandro Luongo as Nottingham.

The Teatro La Fenice will implement social distancing regulations in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The company is also set to present a semi-staged productions of “La Traviata” with Claudia Pavone and “Il Trovatore” with Mantenga and Piero Pretti.

“Roberto Devereux” will be presented three times with the production opening on Sept. 15.
