Robert Mollicone & Dolora Zajick Feature in Episode 4 of San Francisco Opera’s ‘North Stage Door’

By Logan Martell

San Francisco Opera has announced the release of the latest episode of “North Stage Door.”

This new episode of the company’s behind-the-scenes podcast will feature stories of opera’s ability to enchant audiences. Host Chris Largent will be joined by conductor Robert Mollicone and revered mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajck. Musical selections will draw from SFO productions of “Manon,” “Eugene Onegin,” “Gotterdammerung,” “Andrea Chenier,” “Madama Butterfly,” “La FIlle du Regiment,” and “Elektra.”

The episode will be broken into four segments: Prompters, and their role in the performance; Opera on the Road, and how a production moves for tours; Supernumeraries, and what they bring to the stage; and My First Opera, and how first impressions can shape a relationship with the art form.

All episodes of “North Stage Door” can be streamed for free on San Francisco Opera’s website, as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.
