Richmond Symphony Announces 2021-22 Season

The Richmond Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2021-22 season.

For the purposes of this article, the focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.

The company will team with Virginia Opera for a presentation of “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

Performance Dates: April 1 & 3, 2022

The orchestra is also set to present Haydn’s “The Creation” under the music direction of Erin Freeman.

Performance Dates: April 8 & 10, 2022

The season will come to a close with a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The titanic work will be conducted by Valentina Peleggi and will feature soprano April Martin, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Foley, tenor Rodrick Dixon, and bass-baritone Damien Geter.

The concert will also feature performances of Joel Thompson’s “An Act of Resistance” and Valerie Coleman’s “Umoja.”

Performance Dates: May 21 & 22, 2022
