Richard Ollarsaba, Symone Harcum, Alisa Jordheim Headline Virginia Opera’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’
By Nicolas QuirogaThe Virginia Opera will Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” starting on March 25, 2022.
The opera will star Richard Ollarsaba, Symone Harcum, Alisa Jordheim, Erik Earl Larson, Lauren Cook, Whitney Robinson, Jason Ferrante, Eric J. McConnell, Catherine Goode, and Chauncey Blade. Adam Turner will conduct with Kyle Lang directing. Peter Dean Beck will design the set while Paul Brown will design costumes. Lighting design will be by Driscoll otto and James P. McGough will be wig and makeup designer.
“It is exciting to revisit Mozart’s masterpiece after a hiatus of almost a decade and this production of Figaro is going to be nothing short of enchanting. Figaro promises to deliver a performance to remember, with its resounding message best summed up in one of the show’s final lines: in the end there is only love,” said Turner in an official press statement.
The opera will run through April 10, 2022 at the Harrison Opera House in Norfolk, the Carpenter Theater at the Dominion Energy Center in Richmond, and the Center for the Arts at George Mason University in Fairfax.
