Riccardo Frizza has joined IMG Artists for General Management.

He will be represented by Artist Manager Federico M. Benigni from the company’s London office and Rome.

Frizza is currently the Music director of the Bergamo Donizetti Opera Festival and this season he conducted the 100th Season Opening Gala at Teatro Real in Madrid in “La Cenerentola.” Upcoming productions include “Lucia di Lammermor” at the Metropolitan Opera, “Rigoletto” and “L’Amico Fritz” at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, “La Clemenza di Tito” at ABAO Bilbao Opera and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at the Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, among others.

In a statement, Frizza said, “I am particularly proud and excited of this exciting new journey – even though, here at IMG Artists, I feel like back home! Indeed, this is the ‘home’ that saw me grow and move my first international professional steps. I’ve met Federico few years ago and since the first day I felt enthusiastic about his deep knowledge and genuine passion for music and artists. I’ll be leaning on a young man of great talent and vision, supported by some of the greatest managers in the business. What could I hope more?! We all speak the same language – that of music – and I am particularly happy to be part, again, of this bunch of incredible artists and people!”

Meanwhile, Benigni noted, “Riccardo and I met few years ago after a stunning performance in Italy and I immediately felt his innate musical instinct and ever-young passion for making music. It was clear to me from the first sight that for him is ‘always day one’ in the music world: his tireless approach, pursuing the beauty through the smallest details, eager to discover something new, and possibly – somehow – unexpected, makes him unique and special Riccardo clearly is one of the most eminent Italian conductors in the scene, and yet has big surprises in store. I feel privileged to be now looking after his professional activities and am looking forward to his exciting career in the upcoming years.”
