Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra Announces 2021-22 Season

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its 2021-22 season. The orchestra plans no-capacity-limit performances starting in September 2021.

For the purpose of this article, we will focus on vocal works only.

The Music Returns!” will showcase mezzo-soprano Susan Platts performing Mahler‘s “Rückert-Lieder.” The rest of the program will feature Montgomery’s “Banner,” and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4. Bramwell Tovey conducts.

Performance Date: Sep. 18, 2021

Handel’s “Messiah” will feature the Providence Singers and will be conducted by Bramwell Tovey.

Performance Date: Dec. 12, 2021

The Providence Singers will take the stage performing Barber’s “Adagio for Strings,” Brahms’ “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place” from “A German Requiem” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Bramwell Tovey conducts.

Performance Date: May 7, 2022
