Resonance Works to Present ‘La Donna del Lago’

By Francisco Salazar

Pittsburgh’s Resonance Works is set to present Rossini’s “La Donna del Lago.”

The performances will be held at Charity Randall Theatre on  June 28 and 30, 2024, and will mark the first time the work is performed in the United States since the Metropolitan Opera’s 2015 production.

“Today, Rossini is best known for his comedies, but he left a rich legacy of 39 operas that has gone largely unexplored. ‘La Donna del Lago’ contains everything that we love about opera: high drama, beautiful melodies, and plenty of opportunities for our incredible artists to show off their vocal prowess. It’s music that deserves to be heard, and we can’t wait to share it with Pittsburgh audiences,” Artistic and General Director Maria Sensi Sellner said in a statement.

The work will star Timothi Williams, Javier Abreu, Amanda Crider, Minghao Liu, Michael Scarcelle, Donovan Smith, and Wallis Lucas.

Stage director Eve Summer will lead the work with conductor Maria Sensi Sellner.
