Resonance Works To Pay Tribute To Robert Page During The Holidays

By Francisco Salazar

Resonance Works is set to celebrate the holiday season with “A Joyous Sound!”

The concert series featuring the Resonance Chamber Orchestra and Festival Chorus will pay tribute to Grammy award-winning conductor, arranger, and composer, Robert Page, who was well-known for his Holiday concerts and who conducted the Philadelphia and Cleveland Orchestras.

The concert will include Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins, selections from Handel’s Messiah, and Finzi’s In terra pax, which incorporates the poetry of Robert Bridges with the familiar Christmas story from St. Luke’s gospel. Page’s “A Joyous Sound” will open the program, which also includes pieces by Sweelinck, Hailstork, and a number of arrangements by Arthur Harris.

The concert will feature soloists Daniel Teadt and soprano Lara Lynn McGill. Violin soloists include Resonance Chamber Orchestra Concertmaster Sandro Leal-Santiesteban, along with Dawn Posey, Anne Moskal, and Ashley Freeburn.

The concert will be under 90 minutes with no intermission, and there will be goodies from Sweet Bites Cookies.

Performances will be held on Dec. 7 and 9 at the Third Presbyterian Church in Shadyside.
