Renée Fleming to Perform ‘Voice of Nature: the Anthropocene’

The Celebrity Series of Boston has announced that pianist Inon Barnatan will join soprano Renée Fleming for a recital.

The evening will showcase the two in the Boston premiere of “Voice of Nature: the Anthropocene” at Symphony Hall on Nov. 12, 2023.

The recital is inspired by Fleming’s 2023 Grammy Award-winning album, “Voice of Nature: the Anthropocene.” The evening will span the classical, romantic, and contemporary eras, with beloved songs and new commissions exploring nature as both inspiration and victim of humanity.

There will also be a multimedia component that the National Geographic Society is providing an original video.

The recital will include music by Caroline Shaw, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Franz Liszt, Edvard Grieg, Jerome Kern, Hazel Dickens, George Frideric Handel, Nico Muhly, Joseph Canteloube, Maria Schneider, Bjork, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Howard Shore, Kebin Puts, and Burt Bacharach / Hal David.
