The University Musical Society at the University of Michigan is set to present Renée Fleming and Inon Barnatan in concert.

The recital, which is set to take place on Sept. 28, 2023 at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, will be based around the soprano’s 2023 Grammy Award-winning recording “Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene.” The showcase will feature music by Caroline Shaw, Fauré, Ravel, Liszt,  Grieg, Jerome Kern, Hazel Dickens, Nico Muhly, Canteloube, Maria Schneider, Rachmaninoff, Kevin Puts, Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Howard Shore, Händel, Barber, and Bjork, among many others.

“This special performance spans classical, romantic, and contemporary eras, with beloved songs and new commissions exploring nature as both an inspiration to and victim of humanity,” says the description on the event’s website.

Additionally, The National Geographic Society is set to present a video to accompany the musical selections.
