The Boston Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2025-26 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

The BSO Opening Gala will be conducted by Andris Nelsons and will feature soloists Golda Schultz, James Carter, vibraphonist J. William Hudgins, and double bassist Caleb Quillen. The program includes music by John Adams, Barber, Gerswhin, and Montgomery.

Performance Date: Sept. 19, 2025

Andris Nelsons conducts Mahler Symphony No. 4 with Nikola Hillebrand. The program also includes Debussy’s Nocturnes.

Performance Dates: Oct. 2-4, 2025

The Boston Symphony Chamber Players will be conducted by Earl Lee and will feature Sasha Cooke and pianist Randall Hodgkinson. The program includes music by Loeffler, Koechlin, Saint-Saens, Bach, and Mahler.

Performance Date: Oct. 5, 2025

Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Opening of Symphony Hall, Andris Nelsons conducts Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis.” Soloists include Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Klaus Florian Vogt, and Franz-Josef Selig.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9-11, 2025

Andris Nelsons conducts Barber’s “Vanessa” with Jennifer Holloway, Samantha Hankey, Anne Sofie von Otter, Pavel Černoch, Thomas Hampson, and Wei Wu.

Performance Dates: Jan. 8 & 10, 2026

Thomas Wilkins conducts David Lang’s “poor hymnal” and Carlos Simon’s “News Mass.” Zebulon Ellis is the soloist alongside The Crossing.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29-31, 2026

Herbert Blomstedt leads an all-Brahms with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

Performance Dates: March 5-7, 2026

Andris Nelsons conducts Renée Fleming and Thomas Hampson in excerpts of John Adams’ “Nixon in China.” The program also includes Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, From the New World.

Performance Dates: March 26-28, 2026

Dima Slobodeniouk conducts the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. The concert also includes John Adams’ Harmonium.
