Renée Fleming, Sondra Radvanovsky, Daniela Mack, Alfredo Daza, SeokJong Baek, & Ana María Martínez Lead Lyric Opera of Chicago’s 2025-26 Season

The Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced its 2025-26 season.

The company will open with the Lyric Opening Concert & Gala.

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2025 

The first production of the season will be Cherubini’s Medea starring Sondra Radvanovsky in Sir. David McVicar’s production. She will be joined by Matthew Polenzani, Elena Villalón, Zoie Reams, and Alfred Walker. Enrique Mazzola conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 11-26, 2025

The Lyric Opera will present Movie Nights at Lyric featuring classics from the silver screen, brought to life by the Lyric Opera Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16 & 18, 2025 & April 10 & 11, 2026

Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” and Leomcavallo’s “Pagliacci” will be performed in a double bill. Mascagni’s work will star Yulia Matochkina, SeokJong Baek, Quinn Kelsey, and Lucia Lauren Decker while Leoncavallo’s will star Gabriella Reyes, Russell Thomas, Quinn Kelsey, and Luke Sutliff. Enrique Mazzola conducts the Elijah Moshinsky production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 1-23, 2025

Enrique Mazzola conducts Orff’s “Carmina Burana” with a cast that includes Jasmine Habersham, David Portillo, and Ian Rucker.

Performance Dates: Nov. 14-18, 2025

“A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness” by Billy Corgan will make its world premiere. The work is inspired by one of the greatest alternative albums of all time.

Performance Dates: Nov. 21-30, 2025

Elena Stikhina, Brandon Jovanovich, Nicholas Brownlee, Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, and Ryan Capozzo star in Strauss’ “Salome” with Tomáš Netopil conducting. The production is by Sir David McVicar.

Performance Dates: Jan, 25-Feb. 14, 2026

Jacquelyn Stucker, Cecilia Molinari, Anthony León, Ian Rucker, Ana María Martínez, and Rod Gilfry star in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.” Enrique Mazzola conducts Michael Cavanagh’s production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 1-15, 2026

Renée Fleming presents her “Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene” recital. 

Performance Dates: Feb. 5, 2026

Karah Son leads Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Evan LeRoy Johnson, Nozomi Kato, and Zachary Nelson. Domingo Hindoyan conducts the production by Matthew Ozawa.

Performance Dates: March 14-April 12, 2026

Gabriela Lena Frank’s “El último sueño de Frida y Diego” will star Daniela Mack, Stephanie Sanchez, Ana María Martínez, Alfredo Daza, and Key’mon W. Murrah. Roberto Kalb conducts Lorena Maza’s production.

Performance Dates: March 21-April 4, 2026
