Renée Fleming, Sir Bryn Terfel, Rod Gilfry Headline Aspen Music Festival & School’s 2022 Season

The Aspen Music Festival and School has announced the schedule for its 2022 showcase.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.

Soprano Renée Fleming and baritone Rod Gilfry will kick off the festival with a performance of Kevin Puts’ “The Brightness of Light.” The concert, which will be conducted by Robert Spano, will also include scenes from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Performance Dates: July 3, 2022

Fleming and Gilfry will also join forces for an evening of Broadway and operetta.

Performance Dates: July 9, 2022

There will be weekly Opera Encounters with singers from the Aspen Opera Theater and VOCAL Arts.

Performance Dates: July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 & August 6, 2022

There will also be biweekly Vocal Arts Showcases featuring Singers from Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS.

Performance Dates: July 14 & 28

Sir Bryn Terfel will headline “Falstaff” under the musical direction of Patrick Summers. He will be joined by artist-fellows of the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program.
