Renée Fleming Headlines North Carolina Symphony’s 2019-20 Season

The North Carolina Symphony has announced its 2019-20 season with a number of crossover concerts, classical repertoire, and operatic selections. For this article, we have only chosen the opera or vocal performances.

In time for the holiday season, the North Carolina Master Chorale joins NCS for Handel’s Messiah. Ellie Dehn, Andrew Owens, and Federico de Michelis are the soloists in the evening, which is set to be conducted by Grant Llewellyn.

Performance Dates: Dec. 6-7, 2019

In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary, the NCS will showcase his Ninth Symphony with a new choral work by North Carolina native and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw. Grant Llewellyn conducts the program with soloists Elizabeth Llewellyn, Paula Murrihy, Nicholas Phan, and Dashon Burton.

Renée Fleming joins forces with saxophone player Branford Marsalis for a gala evening conducted by Grant Llewellyn.
