Renée Fleming Cancels Met Opera Tour

By Francisco Salazar

Renée Fleming has canceled her participation in the Met Opera tour this summer.

As a result, Angel Blue will replace Fleming in the concerts, which are set to take place in Paris, Baden-Baden, London, and New York. Blue will sing alongside Russell Thomas and the conductor, Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

The soprano is set to return to the Met this spring in a production of “La Traviata” and will sing a production of “Tosca” at the Santa Fe Opera. She will also sing her first “Aida” production at the Royal Opera House.

The Met Opera tour is set to open in June and finish in July.

Fleming next takes the stage for “Nixon in China” at the Paris Opera, making her role debut as Pat Nixon.
