Registration Open for Concurso Brasileiro de Canto Maria Callas 2026

The 24th Concurso Brasileiro de Canto Maria Callas has opened registration for the 2026 competition.
Eligible participants include all Brazilian and Latin American opera singers aged 18 to 40, whether residing in their home countries or not. Singers of other nationalities may register if they have been residents in Brazil for more than six months.
The preliminary phase will be remote and conducted through videos recorded by the candidates. These applications will be evaluated by the Cia Ópera São Paulo and Amigos da Cia Ópera São Paulo committees. Those selected for the in-person semifinals will be announced on Dec. 19.
The semifinal round of competition will take place on March 16 and 17 at Teatro Sérgio Cardoso in São Paulo. The finalists will compete in the final round on March 19 in Jacareí. The in-person jury will consist of singers, directors, and music critics from Brazil and abroad. The contest is directed by Paulo Esper.
Registration is open until Nov. 17, 2025.
