Regina Opera to Present Puccini Classic

Regina Opera Company is presenting Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” from Feb. 28 through March 8, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Brooklyn.

The title role of Suor Angelica will be shared among three sopranos across the run. Sara Beth Pearson takes on the role Feb. 21 and March 1, Rachel Hippert sings the part Feb. 26 and March 7, and Yeawn Jun performs Feb. 28 and March 8. La Principessa will be sung by Erica Koehring (Feb. 21 and March 1), Vita Koreneva (Feb. 28 and March 7), and Manya Gaver-Holmes (Feb. 28 and March 9).

The supporting cast features Emily Gehman, Rachel Spund, and Shanelle Woods sharing the role of La Badessa; Janelle Kirton, Michaela Larson, and Tomoko Nago alternating as La Zelatrice; and Elizabeth Moulton, Sarah Ittoop, and Sofia Durante covering the Maestra delle Novizie. Additional roles are distributed among a large ensemble including Veronica Mak, Margaux Frohlich, Katherine Thompson, Sarah Pajonas, Renna Popli, Olivia Capozzi, Emily Tate Daniel, Lina Chung, Hyunjo Ha, Luisa Simon, Jessica DeGennaro, Melaina Mills, Melissa Perry, Emily Vidler, Yvonne Juris, Sea Jeong Jang, Carolyn Anderson, Cez Anne Carino, Emma Ritto, and Laura Ann Heckmann.

The role of La Madonna is performed by Marcia Kresge, and the child’s role is shared between Sebastian C. A. Jones and Mae Valentina Batista.
